TITLE:            Customer Service Representative (CSR)

 

FLSA:             Non-Exempt (Hourly)

 

REPORTS TO:  C-Store Manager

 

General Summary:  As an R-Store CSR, your primary responsibility is to provide excellent Customer Service, beyond our customers’ expectations.  First and foremost, you must satisfy the needs of the customer by exercising the GUEST approach, keeping in mind the 3 C’s of R-Store, and focusing on our Core Values.  The CSR works under the primary supervision of the C-Store Manager in a fast-paced environment.

 

Principal Duties

  • Greet all customers with a friendly attitude and adhere to the GUEST approach 
    • Greet/Understand their Needs/ Make Eye Contact / Suggestively Sell/Be Speedy and Thank You.
  • Serve our customers in a friendly, efficient manner, focusing on the 3 C’s
    • Customer Service, Cleanliness and Convenience.
  • Actively engages in cross-selling other products to customers to satisfy the customers’ needs and obtain our internal goals.
  • Operate a cash register/credit card terminal and accurately count/handle money transactions.
  • Properly verify the age of customers purchasing age-restricted products.
  • Perform duties related to opening and closing the store for business. 
    • Duties may include securing all cash and credit cards and operating the security system.
    • Prepare routine daily shift reports.
  • Perform stocking duties within the station as well as in the cooler.
  • Perform indoor/outdoor housekeeping and maintenance duties to include, but not limited to shoveling snow, sweeping/mopping, emptying trash and general cleaning of restrooms/shower and lounge areas (where applicable).
  • Reports to work at the assigned/scheduled time.
  • Performs other duties as required by the CSM or other members of Management.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Must be able to obtain a server’s license to sell age-restricted products as soon as possible.
  • Must be patient and helpful to exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to operate cash registers/calculators, etc.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written directions in regards to paperwork and daily reporting.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of ten (10) pounds frequently and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.

 

Work Conditions

  • Schedule includes nights, every other weekend and some holidays.
  • Smoke-free environment that will be primarily indoor work but at times may be exposed to heat/cool outdoor temperatures as well as when entering coolers.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring standing up to 9 hours per day.
